The Man, the Myth, the Legend…

David Lloyd Copeland (lovingly referred to as “chap-stick”) founded this club in 2018. For awhile he saw a need for drivers that wanted to come together to go for a cruise, and Dave took that as opportunity. What started as a small group of friends and like minded individuals with a love for their cars, quickly turned into one of the largest Mustang groups in the Pacific Northwest.

To many he was a close friend that you could joke around with or just talk about life. He had a way about him that said “I’m in charge here” but also showed a deep care for the community he was building. Although he is no longer with us, Dave left behind a legacy through The Northwest Mustang Club that still shows today. His motivation, kindness, persistence, and also stubbornness, proves that you can find a way through whatever challenges you may face.

Growing up I had a hobby for playing racing games and constantly fantasizing about modified cars. This instantly sparked a passion that has stood strong no matter what life threw at me. I became apart of this community in the beginning of 2019 when I bought my first Mustang. I was later added on the team as an admin in 2021, followed by Dave Copeland asking for me to become Co-Vice President alongside Terri Clocksin shortly thereafter.

Since then, this club continues to bring new opportunities, and show me places I’d only dreamed of. I have also gained so many amazing friends and people I can truly call Family. I look forward to meeting every new member and leading our club on events each and every cruise season. Throughout all of the memories made, or the knowledge we all have learned and shared, one thing will always be certain… This club has always been my pride and joy and where I belong. #tnwmc for life! Thanks for believing in me Dave.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I was surrounded by cars from an early age, and that passion quickly became a huge part of who I am. From the sound of engines to the culture and craftsmanship behind every build, cars have always been more than just transportation to me — they represent freedom, creativity, and dedication. My connection to Mustangs especially grew stronger through the influence of Dave Copeland, whose passion and knowledge inspired me to become deeply involved with The Northwest Mustang Club.

I love the sense of community the club brings. Whether we’re out on cruises, sharing laughs, or making new memories together, there’s always a feeling of connection and support that makes every moment meaningful. Being surrounded by such passionate and genuine people has made this journey unforgettable, and I’m excited for all the adventures still ahead.
